GEMS is currently seeking applicants for the following posistions:

Geotechnical, ocean, and civil engineers

Candidates must be able to creatively apply engineering principals to solve new challenges provided by ultra-deepwater oil and gas developments.  Positions require sound knowledge of engineering fundamentals, good written/verbal communication skills, the ability to pass safety and survival training classes required for offshore travel, and the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams.  The positions require intermittent domestic, international, and offshore travel.  Must be proficient in soil mechanics and possess advanced degree (M.S., Ph.D., or equivalent) in civil engineering, geology, geotechnical engineering or related field and at least one degree in engineering.  Ocean or civil engineer candidates must have an undergraduate or advanced degree in engineering, with course work in civil engineering, ocean engineering, petroleum engineering, oceanography, geology, engineering geology, or related fields. 

Marine Geoscientist(s)

Positions requires 3-5 years experience in high resolution marine geophysical/ geological interpretation.  Proficiency in 2D/3D digital seismic interpretations and deepwater experience a plus.  Offshore, data acquisition experience preferred.  B.S. or M.S. level Geoscience degree.
